Why Quercetin Is Better Than Aspirin

Pain and Inflammation is probably the most common problem in America today. Not just back pain but all types of pain like arthritic pain, gastrointestinal inflammations, sprains and strains, etc.

I recommend a number of different things.

There are recent studies coming out regarding ASA’s like Aspirin as well as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, possibly being detrimental to those who may have contracted the flu.

There’s some interesting history concerning these types of drugs and the flu. Historians have gone back and looked at the spike in the death rate of the 1918 Flue epidemic. That spike followed the surgeon general’s recommendation, as a general policy, high doses of aspirin or other products like it to possibly combat the flu.

What the surgeon general and doctors didn’t know at that point in history, is that these high doses caused pulmonary edema, or fluid in the lungs, reducing the lungs ability to clear mucus. This was causing wet pneumonia and people were dying.

I recommend especially during flu season, that people try to minimize their use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as well as Aspirin unless it’s prescribed.

In my clinic we’ve had great success using Quercetin.

One of the properties of Quercetin is that it’s both anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and it’s a super antioxidant. This makes it an excellent substance for systemic inflammation, especially gastrointestinal inflammation and allergies.

We also utilize Cat’s Claw and Serrapeptase.

Serrapeptase is a unique enzyme originally derived from a silk worm (although it’s now manufactured). This enzyme actually works to eliminate broken down, damaged, and inflamed tissue to minimize the inflammatory cascade.

Another thing that is very beneficial is a balance of 3, 6, and 9 essential fatty acids because they minimize the pro-inflammatory response. They essentially provide your body with what it needs to deal with inflammation be it local or systemic.
