Buying The Best Coffee Beans Is Vital
People who are not familiar with whole coffee beans and coffee often ask what so special about coffee beans in the first place when jar of regular coffee can be easily purchased and is much more convenient. That would be absolutely true if you’re all about convenience. But good taste is a whole other matter. What many people don’t know is that there are more than twenty different kinds of coffee beans all with differing tastes and flavors.
The fact of the matter is that there are over twenty different types of coffee beans. However, they are primarily divided into two broad types. Regular coffee drinkers might already be familiar with the various types of coffee beans available and their various flavors.
Coffea Arabica is the scientific name of a type of coffee bean that makes up between sixty to seventy percent of the world’s consumption. This is also the type that most people like out of the many other types. This type of coffee bean is also very expensive largely because of the strict growing conditions required to grow this type of coffee. These plants need high altitude to thrive and you should be at least around 3,000 feet above sea level. In addition the temperature should not exceed the low-70s degrees Fahrenheit range.
In order to effectively grow coffee Arabica it needs to be cultivated at a certain altitude and under certain temperatures usually under seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit. Up to 30-40 percent of coffee drinkers drink coffea canephora which is considered to be an inferior category of coffee and is often called ‘Robusta’. This is type of coffee bean is considered to be inferior primarily due to its bitter taste. Coffee Robusta can be grown at almost any location and can grow in temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
However it is not very popular because of its rather bitter taste. The taste is one reason why coffee Robusta is significantly cheaper and frequently used as a filler with coffea Arabica to reduce the cost of coffee and make it more affordable to the regular consumer.
This is why Robusta will almost always be found in most coffee mixtures. Keep in mind that a cup of coffee is only as good as the coffee bean. Coffee made from freshly ground coffee beans of medium quality will outshine even premium ground coffee that has been sitting on the shelf too long. After you buy coffee beans make sure to store them in air tight container.
But within a week or so, your ground-up coffee beans are going start tasting stale. The best alternative is to purchase only small batches of whole coffee beans and grind them at home as you need them. Coffee grinders are widely available and fairly inexpensive, so it’s worth the money to buy coffee beans and grind them yourself.
Picking a home coffee machine can be difficult. It is not a choice that you should be making unless you are doing some fact finding. Not all coffee machines are right for everyone some people may like coffee pods some may not.
