Canon ImageClass D320 – Ushering The New Dawn Of Performance Printing

Posted by Ben Pate 26 November, 2009

The Canon ImageClass D320 is an excellent printer as it offers both high quality black and white printing, as well as a fast printing speed at a maximum of 15 pages per minute. This is a multi-functioning machine as it also includes a digital copier. Superior monochromatic printing is produced by the D320 Toner at 1200 x 600 dpi resolution. The copying has the option to enlarge images up to 200% or reduce them down. The largest size paper this machine uses is legal size.

This printer/copier is very fast and economical to use. It uses a single cartridge system that makes usage and operation much easier compared to two cartridge systems that frequently need to be replaced at different times. The paper tray holds 250 sheets. The right cover can be opened to install the cartridge or remove paper jams. The copying surface and cover are made of paten glass.

A S35 cartridge is included with the printer and this cartridge is a regular cartridge. Many times the printer will come with a starter cartridge that only lasts for a short period of time. Not so with the D320 Toner Cartridge included in this set up. Besides a cartridge a CD-ROM with software, power cord, cassette/multi-purpose tray and documentation kit are all included with the printer.

The Canon ImageClass D320 has a variety of features including the electronic collating, enlargement, reduction and a multi-stack bypass feeder. It is compatible with Windows operating systems. It connects to your computer using a USB cable, which is not included with the printer, and can be hooked up to a network.

The following are a few tips on installation and usage. The printer can very easily be installed with the Windows 98 operating system. However later Windows operating systems required some searching, as the printer does not automatically start. You will have to manually point to the correct NTF files and this can be very confusing and difficult for those not computer savvy.

When printing large documents the printer will jam but the amount of paper jams is not more then average for printers. If the printer is not in a well-ventilated spot the paper will curl as the built up heat is affecting the paper. This printer does two sided copies and this requires manual feeding into the machine. Ultimately many of the problems noticed by owners are the same you would occur with other printers in the same class.

This printer is monochromatic and works using a laser and rotating mirrors. The image is beamed indirectly to a drum that in turn attracts toner to the image. A high temperature is used to melt the toner and transfer the image to the printer. The toner for monochromatic printing is much less then color printers. The printer itself comes in many different models with very different options, though printing beyond simple graphics can be difficult.

A product like Canon ImageClass D320 Toner offers the performance you demand. It’s no secret that Canon ImageClass Toner is a must. With a superior Toner product, crisply sharp prints are guaranteed.
