Deer Valley Resort has Fantastic Fine Dining Options
Ski holidays are no longer the bare bones experience common in the 70s and 80s. Now ski resorts spanning Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado, and Utah are in a quiet race to craft the best ski resort experience.
The last 10 years have brought continual expansion to the size of resort facilities, on mountain services, shopping, and restaurants. While there are many top quality ski resorts; Vail Resort in Vail, Colorado and Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah consistently earn the #1 and #2 positions as rated by Ski Magazine readers. Deer Valley Resort has earned the #1 honors in 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009.
To earn the #1 place Deer Valley Resort has focused not only on the quality of its skiing, but also on mountain services and the Deer Valley restaurant experience. Deer Valley does not just serve visitors lunch during the day. At night they convert their day lodges into upscale restaurants which are easily some of the top restaurants in Deer Valley and Park City UT.
The Mariposa is considered Deer Valleys flagship dining establishment serving European continental fare. Fireside Dining offers optional romantic horse drawn sleigh rides prior to dinner and a unique Swiss alpine menu served beside stone fireplaces. The Seafood Buffet is a well known favorite featuring a large selection of fresh seafood as well as hearty fare from the grill.
Park City Utah has also upgraded its service level by increasing the amount of high end accommodations and by adding many great restaurants. The traditional ski holiday lodging options have been displaced due to the demands of the modern traveler.
As a result of the shift to a more discerning traveler, area restaurants have responded by providing sophisticated dining experiences worthy of the most discerning palate. There are several restaurants in close proximity to Deer Valley Resort that receive top rankings though distinguished rating agencies such as AAA, Michelin, Mobile, and Zagat.
Although there are many fantastic Deer Valley dining options, my favorite choice is the Goldener Hirsch Restaurant which is tucked away in the Austrian inspired Goldener Hirsch Inn. The Stein Eriksen Lodge has arguably one of the best restaurants in the country with its Glitretind Restaurant. The Glitretind is also famous for its daily Skiers Lunch Buffet during the winter season.
No matter what your personal preference, Deer Valley Resort certainly lives up to its reputation as a top ski destination in North America. There are now many unique restaurant options to compliment the fabulous skiing and scenery. Its definitely worth a closer look.
