Have a Look at the Sony Bravia KDL32W550 0U

Everyone knows that Sony is a good brand name set, and the Sony KDL32W550 0U is one of the many models on the Bravia range. This is the top of the range and the “W” series consists of a’20×1080p Full HD panel, which has now become a standard feature, but the “W” series was the first to use this technology.

These feature full LCD television sets are very affordable and this particular KDL32W550 0U model has 4 HDMI inputs as well as Applicast, which enables the unit to be connected to the internet. A USB port allows for handling of all types of photo, video or music files and it also comes with an Ethernet jack with which DLNA PC files can be stored, or can be used for the Applicast service.

100Hz Motionflow technology, together with engine imaging from the Bravia range makes for a brilliant, quality TV. Retailers are moving these KDL32W550 0U tv sets fast at really great prices and this is part of the charm of buying this top of the range set. Everyone wants one, because they know they are getting a good deal!

The KDL32W550 0U consists of a 32″ screen although it does not look as large as this because of the attractive glossy black bezel which frames it. They come packed with a protective film over all the parts which may get scratched. So one has to assume that these parts should be kept well protected! But this is the way of the world, even out cell phones come with these protective coverings and they get scratched eventually with use.

Even though it has a 32″ screen the KDL32W550 0U is still a compact unit. It also have a smallish footprint, so for TV shoppers who have limited space it may be good option. It also looks more compact than it is, so it won’t create clutter, or look over-imposing with your TV room decor. Some reviews have said they prefer the way the 32E5500 looks, but I don’t. I prefer the “W” model.

Wega Gate menus feature on most Sony TV models, but not on this particular KDL32W550 0U model. It makes use of icons, much like the Playstation 3. For some people this is a much more user friendly interface and it is definitely innovative. But if you prefer the more traditional menu interface it may be confusing. The way I think a picture paints a thousand words and I find it easier to use.

It may take you time to get use to the menu, but at least you will have fun messing around. If you are technologically inclined, you won’t have issues but the older generation may not know what the hang is going on when they try to tv the contrast on the KDL32W550 0U. I would not hand this remote over to my 75 year old father to use. Hide it under the cushions in the couch and pretend you have lost it.

The video processor on the KDL32W550 0U works fine as far as I am concerned, I don’t really know much about the technicalities of this. So read the tech specs if you want to know more. Mine works, the picture is fine and I get a fantastic quality picture with videos and DVD’s on Thursday night Chick Flick night, so I am more than happy!

From one girl to another, this KDL32W550 0U television set looks great with my decor, it works fine once you have mastered the icons on the menu. It is simple to dust and keep clean and it fills that empty corner in the left hand side of my room that was disturbing my Feng Shui balance.
