How To Get Rid Of Rats
Rats are a common nuisance in many houses all over the world. Some of the ways of tackling the rat menace in your house are discussed here.
One of the most effective ways to do this is to use electronic pest control techniques. There are effective sonic rat repellents available that give out noises of high frequency to repel rats. Only rats can hear these sounds and therefore the machines are safe for humans and household pets.
Another method of getting rid of rats is by making use of organic rat repellents. This method makes use of minute tablets or pellets that smell like rat predators and hence scare the rats away. These can be sprinkled throughout the house, backyard, garage or at other places visited by rats.
You can also use moth balls as their powerful smell can act as a repellent for the rats and ward them off. They can be placed in moist and dark corners of the house, where rats are generally found.
Making Use Of mechanical traps, often known as wooden snap traps, is a method of rat extermination that is still very well known. These traps are inexpensive and easy to use, but they should be laid with appropriate bait. However, they can injure the kids and household pets and hence need to be laid cautiously. The biggest disadvantage of laying a rat trap is that it can trap just one rat at one go. Yet, it is a better choice as it is safer than the chemical products that are mostly toxic and thus harmful.
A glue board can also be used to trap and remove rats. A glue board can be made quite easily by taking a wooden or cardboard plank and smearing a lot of sticky material on it. The board can then be laid at particular places after putting bits of food to draw the rats. When rats access the food, the glue sticks to them and they can\’t run out of the board. This eventually results in their starving to death.
