So if you like to plan the start of your vacation to the very end of your trip or if you like to go off and let the car go where it may you still want to keep safety at the front of your travel list. Carry extra blankets in case you have to sleep in your car. This is in case you find all the hotels without rooms available.

The hotels might be full because of the holiday season and you have no reservation. So you have to spend the night in the car.

Carry a first aid pack because someone might need a bandage. And remember to take basics like aspirin and all medications all members of the trip usually take. Check your spare tire before the trip. Make sure you have a good feeling about any potential stranger turned rider before deciding to give anyone a ride.

There are many people who simply need a ride. But there are also people who will do you and your family harm given the chance. Be careful of strangers you see on the road. Keep important documents in your car and back up copies in a secure area. You should have your registration and insurance information handy at all times.
